Prior to emigrating to Western Australia, Henry served with the 1st Gloucester Royal Garrison Artillery Volunteers and the 1st South Midland Brigade, Royal Field Artillery.
During World War 1 Henry served with the 10th Light Horse Regiment.
During World War 2 Henry joined the Volunteer Defence Corps and then transferred to the 5th Garrison Battalion.
