The Australian Flying Corps was formed on 22nd October 1912 and began flight training in 1914. It was designated a branch of the Australian Army and joined the Australian Imperial Force (AIF) during World War 1. For ease of use, the personal records of anyone involved in the Flying Corps have been indexed here as well as on the AIF pages.

The Royal Australian Air Force was formed on the 31st August 1921.

The Women's Auxiliary Australian Air Force (WAAAF) was established in March 1941 and was renamed the Women's Royal Australian Air Force (WRAAF) in 1951.The WRAAF merged with the RAAF in 1977. The personal records of all women are indexed alongside their male colleagues.
