VDC No.1 Battalion - Perth

This is a list of all the men who served with the 1st Battalion VDC. Some transferred to the AIF, some transferred to the CMF, others moved to another area and transferred to another VDC Battalion but most of them remained in this Unit for the duration of the War.



The history of Number 1 Battalion (Perth) was compiled in 1942.

This quarterly training report for September 1943 outlines the training completed for No. 1 Battalion (Perth), No. 2 Battalion (Fremantle) and No. 3 Battalion (Swan).

This photograph album was compiled by A Company of No. 1 Battalion (Perth) in December 1944 and presented to Captain Morris when he left the Battalion and transferred to No. 2 Battalion. The photos show A Company from their early days as a RSL unit, through to when A Company was renamed the 66th Anti Aircraft Searchlight Battery in November 1943, and then photos of their work in 1944.
