In October 1942 the 2nd and 4th Australian Divisions, which included the 44th Battalion, took part in a major training exercise that simulated a Japanese invasion and was nicknamed 'Exercise Robber'. These are the top secret instructions and troop movements involved in that exercise. The logistics involved in organising and running such a training exercise were enormous.
