Sister Winifred E K Brown worked at King Albert's Hospital (Number 3) for Convalescent Belgian Soldiers in Highgate, London, England. There were 300 beds which were constantly occupied. The medical staff consisted of a Doctor, a Surgeon, a Matron and 5 nurses. The wounded soldiers were often there for extended periods of time and would get to know the nurses very well. Tsidore Hennis was a soldier who had both his legs amputated. He organised for this autograph book to be written and drawn for Winifred.
