2/4th Machine Gun Battalion

The 2/4th Machine Gun Battalion reached Singapore in January 1942. One third of the Battalion were wounded, missing or killed by the time of the surrender of Singapore on 15th February 1942 and the remaining men were held in Japanese POW camps for the next three years.
STURTRIDGE, Percy Alfred - WX10794 was in C Company and was captured on the 8th February. He kept the list he made of the men who were captured alongside him.
