Archibald McLean was a member of the local volunteer Mounted Rifles as a young man. When the 2nd Anglo-Boer War broke out he signed up with the 1st New South Wales Mounted Rifles. When his 12 month contract was up, he immediately enlisted again in the 2nd New South Wales Mounted Rifles and returned to Africa. This is a collection of letters he wrote to friends and family while he was overseas.
