Francis Wheatley Hodge served in South Africa with the Cape Field Artillery between 1877 and 1887.





Francis Lodge applied to the Victorian Police Force in 1886 but was told there weren't any positions available. In 1887, Francis Wheatley Lodge emigrated to Western Australia and was appointed to the Western Australian Police Force.
