Ernest was taken prisoner on the 15th February, 1942 by the Japanese. He was listed as missing and the following letter was sent to his wife on the 8th May, 1942. The Military could not confirm his whereabouts for another 13 months and he was identified as being held captive in Malaya on 4th June 1943. | |||
